Electric vehicle charging station installation
A Level 2 (240 V) charger installed by the book, at home, at the cottage or at work — by a CMEQ-member master electrician, across the greater Quebec City area and Portneuf.
Fast, safe, code-compliant charging
Charging at home is the number-one habit of EV owners in Quebec: one night on a Level 2 charger restores a full range for a fraction of the cost of public charging. But the installation has to be right. A 240 V charger draws 32 to 48 A continuously, sometimes for hours: the circuit, breaker, cable gauge and panel capacity must all be sized for that load.
Our electricians always start by assessing your electrical service. A 100 A panel already loaded by electric heating, a hot tub or a heat pump doesn't always have the headroom. In that case we propose either a 200 A service upgrade or a load-management system that throttles the charger according to the home's consumption — often the cheaper route.
Smart chargers and brands we install
We install the main brands sold in Quebec (FLO, Grizzl-E, ChargePoint, Tesla Wall Connector, Wallbox, Elmec/EVduty) and advise you according to your vehicle, usage and load-management needs. Wall or post mount, indoor or outdoor, exposed or concealed wiring, NEMA 14-50 outlet or hardwired charger: every configuration is documented and compliant with Chapter V – Electricity of the Quebec Construction Code.
Rebates: the Roulez vert program
Quebec's Roulez vert program offers financial assistance for the purchase and installation of a residential 240 V charger, provided the work is done by a licensed electrical contractor. We hand you the itemized invoice and the documents your application needs. Businesses and multi-unit buildings have their own streams — tell us about your project.

FAQ
What clients ask us
Do I need a 200 A panel for an EV charger?
Not necessarily. A 100 A or 125 A panel may be enough depending on your other loads. When headroom is short, a load manager often avoids a service upgrade.
How long does the installation take?
Most residential installs take half a day. A long cable run (detached garage, distant parking) or a trench can add time.
Can I install a charger at the cottage?
Yes — common in Portneuf, Lac-Beauport and Stoneham. We check the cottage's service capacity and the charger's weather protection.
Is my charger eligible for a rebate?
Residential 240 V chargers installed by a licensed electrician are generally eligible for Roulez vert. We provide the required documentation.
