Tower and aerial obstruction marking
An unmarked tower is an aviation and regulatory risk. Nuvem provides paint marking and obstruction lighting for towers, stacks and tall structures, and maintains them.
Visible by day, visible by night, compliant at all times
In Canada, structures above certain heights or near aerodromes must be marked according to Transport Canada requirements and reported to NAV CANADA. Marking is a discipline of its own: red-and-white paint bands in prescribed proportions, low-, medium- or high-intensity obstruction lights depending on height, control systems and failure monitoring.
Paint marking
Surface preparation and alternating red-and-white bands on guyed, self-supporting and monopole towers, masts and stacks, by climbers certified for work at height. We respect standardized proportions, band counts and colours.
Obstruction lighting
Installation and replacement of red or white LED lights, dual lighting systems, controllers, photocells and remote monitoring alarms. Upgrades from incandescent to LED to cut maintenance and consumption.
Inspection and maintenance
Annual inspection of paint condition and lighting operation, photo report and correction plan. We operate across Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes, often as part of annual site maintenance.

FAQ
What clients ask us
Which structures must be marked?
Those above Transport Canada's prescribed heights or near an aerodrome or flight path. We check the requirement that applies to your structure.
Paint or lights?
Often both: paint provides daytime visibility, lights provide nighttime visibility. High-intensity white lights can sometimes replace paint by day.
How often is marking renewed?
Paint is generally maintained every 5 to 10 years depending on exposure; lights must be inspected regularly and replaced on failure.
Can you work on a tower you didn't build?
Yes. We mark towers built by others, industrial stacks, silos and tall structures of any kind.
